Nordic and melodic jazz
Vingborg/Valencia is a newer name on the Aarhus jazz scene. The quartet’s compositions are characterized by curiosity and creativity. The music is easy to immerse yourself in and almost meditative in its form. Sounds are at the same time minimalist and jazzy, but also manage to spread beyond jazz’s own ranks. The focal point is simple but strong melodies that draw threads to the Nordic jazz scene. With a special love for old folk songs, the quartet plays their way into their very own sound universe; A universe that is relaxing, dreamy and challenging. Vingborg/Valencia has been selected for the Jazz Competition 2024.
