Indescribably present and subtle concert
Randi Laubek is a unique in Danish music, always searching and experimenting she moves, with her big voice, effortlessly around the borderland between pop, soul, jazz, classical, country and world music. The concert consists of songs from Laubek’s entire back catalogue, including tracks from the latest EP “Jetty Out To Sea” – a meeting between classical Chinese stringed instruments and tonality and Laubek’s own songwriting universe. She brings with her the pianist, composer etc. Anders P. Jensen who, in addition to his own electronic career, has left his mark with artists such as Cancer, Thulebasen, Iceage, Love Shop, Hanne Boel and Caroline Henderson and has been a regular collaborator for Laubek since the award-winning debut Ducks And Drakes from 1997.
Laubek duo live is a beautiful, intense and almost meditative experience, where the songs stand in their purest expression and are interpreted freely and responsively by two unique musicians.
We look forward to an intimate concert in Andelen’s unique acoustic setting, where small stories from Randi’s life in and with the music industry tie the songs together. And yes, even the big hits that led to a Grammy for new name of the year, we get to hear again.
