For many years now, Jacob Fischer has been one of the most sought-after musicians in Denmark, both by virtue of his versatile playing, and his ability to both play inventive sparkling solos, and be a responsive accompanist. Today, he is in full swing with tours and recordings in both the US and Japan, but will try to cut back a bit and have more time to compose and record his own musical projects, not least with the many young talents that are pouring forth in Denmark at the moment. This evening, Jacob plays with Karmen Rõivassepp, who has a clear grasp of the musical traditions and moves playfully easily between mainstream jazz, Latin and contemporary tones, both as a singer and as a composer. She is both a skilled text interpreter and scat singer and with her clear, bright sound always appears effortless and charming on stage.
